Good luck! I really wish I could go see the movie! She is going to be in two movies in 2007. Diggers and The Go-Getter. While I was bored at work I looked around for information on Go-Getter and found a link to one of the actors and he had behind the sceens pictures up on the site. I am 99% sure this is Maura in this picture if I am wrong let me know so I can delete the post. www.loutaylorpucci.com/loudrum.jpg of course now to wonder what she is doing in the band outfit. www.imdb.com/title/tt0479289/board/nest/28929350lol, is that really her? According to the site she plays "Hall's Pets." I'm guessing it's the bands name? eta : Just enlarged the pic, its her for sure.

I doubt it'll show in the UK. But maybe I got Liar Liar the other day; it was alright. Maura was good But, as always, I wish there was more of her! Also, the extras annoyed me: all completely about Jim Carey (who I really don't find that amazing). And the commentary was just the director raving about him Oh, but this was funny: (talking about the actor who played the kid) Maura: He's a.. he's a really good actor, too. He's cute and smart and funny... and very warm, and loving. He's great. Jim: Well, you know, he's professional on the set, when we get into the scene, but between scenes, it's like sometimes, you have to go, if you just leave me alone, I'll give you a dollar. I think Maura was paying him; at certain points, she couldn't... he kept stealing her mark off the floor and running away with it, you know, so she didn't know where to stand, and finally she started giving him money, you know, just like, I'll give you a buck, if you just leave my mark alone. Made me laugh how Maura was just like: yeah, he's great. And Jim Carey was like: she was paying him! Whew, long post! Sorry

I see reviews are coming out for The Go-Getter...I thought some of you mige be interested in reading what they have to say; On his way to school one morning, Mercer (Lou Taylor Pucci, Thumbsucker), a 19-year old with a recently deceased mother and an unknown father, realizes what he has to do: steal a car and head west to find his estranged half-brother.
Beginning his journey in Eugene, Oregon, Mercer takes his newfound Volkswagen companion and begins travelling through the modernized Wild West in search of peace and belonging. The car’s owner, a mysterious and quirky young woman (Zooey Deschanel, Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy), becomes his most trusted companion, providing guidance and a friendly voice through frequent phone calls. Along the way, Mercer pieces together the path of his brother’s life, and meets individuals that lead him closer and closer to finding what he is looking for.
The Go-Getter manages to do what good cinema should: it makes you cry and laugh all at the same time. Pucci’s Mercer is the kind of unsung hero we all love; not your typical leading man, but one you can relate to, and actually feel sympathetic for on a basic level. His LSD-fuelled declarations of love to a vixen travel companion (played with a fabulous mix of vulnerability and sexual prowess by Jena Malone, Saved!, Donnie Darko) in front of the backdrop of neon-injected Reno, are both endearing and incredibly funny, due in no small part to Pucci’s ability of letting the audience feel every raw emotion of his character. Judy Grier and Maura Tierney round up the women who Mercer meets and is affected by, each leading him a step closer to his brother and giving him some meaning to his questions and confusions.
Directed by Martin Hynes, with dreamlike cinematography by Byron Shah, The Go-Getter is a masterpiece of a movie. For anyone wondering if they belong, or for those with the Kerouac-inspired vision of the American southwest, Hynes has created a world where the journey is the destination and where, for a brief moment, the viewer can sidecar on a road trip of innocence and discovery.
The icing on the cake comes in the form of M. Ward’s beautiful soundtrack, acting as a mix tape for the traveller, and providing a haunting auditory aid to Mercer’s grand journey. There’s no better fit to a cross-country road trip than the guitar and soft voice of a bittersweet poet, which M. Ward provides in heaps to compliment the acting, directing, and cinematography of The Go-Getter. True, this movie is more or less typical Sundance fare, so while it may not get a wide release (look for it at Cumberland, or Carlton), I’d definitely recommend it for fans of cinema, and those in love with the independent.Review

I really, really want to see Scotland PA, it isn't avalible in NZ at all But I am going to London in a few months, does anyone know if it was released there? If it was I am going to go hunting in all the second hand DVD dealers, there was a good one in Camden that I remember and I thought they might have it.

It wasn't released anywhere but the USA, sorry. I know how frustrating it is! I got my copy from the used and new section from Amazon, and so had it posted to me from the USA. You really need to see it, it's an amazing movie!

I usually have pretty good luck getting hard to find DVD here, and always at a good price. www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_w_h_/026-6643171-0977263?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Scotland%2C+PA+DVD

Ahh...but given the posts on another thread about the cursing issue, expect to hear something wonderful out of Maura's mouth every other line. My copy isn't closed captioned and the 'f' word is the only one that I have no trouble lip reading. Go figure.

Maura kicked ass in Liar Liar. It was not one of the movies I would watch but hey, Maura starred! She could be my mom anytime. I loved the part on the airplane.

Actually, I think she did her very BEST main line work in 'Instinct'. It was a relatively small part - the female lead however. She relayed confusion, confidence, emotionally distraught, sadness and joy in various scenes with Cuba Gooding....and totally held her own opposite Anthony Hopkins in their one scene together. Bravo. I LOVED her in 'Mooseport'...especially her scene at the golf course with Marcia Gay Harden......but "Primary Colors' is the one film I can watch over and over and over. Tons of stellar acting from lots of great character actors in smaller parts...with Maura in the middle of it all. There is even a rare appearance by the actor that makes the better part of his living helping people like Mery Streep and Forrest Whitaker get into their accents for various roles. Just look for the bearded and caped character introduced as Travolta's 'Dr. Beauregard' - Robert Easton. He is a credited 'dialogue coach' on 'The Last King of Scotland' . Yeah...I know. I am wierd about picking up tidbits like that.
