This isn't a 'burning unanswered question' - just an annoyed observation that occurs to me every time I watch S9. Carter is a rude jerk to Abby for 'interfering' in his family life in "A Saint In the City" and then two episodes later, he's trying to interfere in *her* family life by telling her she shouldn't be ignoring Maggie. Instead of taking him home and sleeping with him, I so want her to tell him to get lost in that scene LOL I agree as well!

My friend has been wanting to know about "The Book of Abby" and the music that's playing while she's reading the Bible. Would anyone happen to know the name of the track?

sehlatrevo, is she referring to the music that plays in the beginning of the episode? Or at the end as Abby gets in the car?
I can't bring myself to watch her final episode at the moment, but I know that the music at the end is an original score from Martin Davich, that is the common theme for when someone leaves the show (see Mark Greene's, Neela's, some of Carter's final scenes, etc). The music is used extensively in "Orion In The Sky".
I've tried to find an mp3 or legitimate track, but to no avail.

Its music composed for ER, so it very unlikely you'll be able to find it, unless they ever release another soundtrack? Which is doubtful!! But i love that piece of music too and would love to have that in my collection!

I thought it was the same music throughout as she's reading. I can't bring myself to watch it either, so I don't really know. I'm not emotionally ready for that right now.
I attempted to watch it after I downloaded it but turned it off after just a few seconds. My friend has been wanting the music to it, and even to make a recording of her reading would mean I'd have to watch it. And I can't do it.
Thanks for the answers. I was thinking it was originally composed just for the show but wanted to make sure before I told her I couldn't find it.

Yep, that's all composed for ER. You'd only be depressed for 5 weeks, Dianne? Then you're lucky. I was depressed for 3 months

I have a surprise for you all.I just made a MP3 file from the opening and ending scene of The Book of Abby. It also includes the dance scene with Frank which I found extremely touching. Now you can just listen, without having to watch the saddest scenes ever! But if you already saw the episode, you'll cry anyway, I did Here's the downloadlink : www.yousendit.com/download/YWhPWUhobEE5RmF4dnc9PQ

Yeah, Melinda, it is the same score playing throughout her opening and closing sequence.
Thanks for making the clip, Martine. Still, there's no chance I could listen to it -- that's not any easier than watching the actual episode.
I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who has to prepare themselves to watch Maura's final episode. I've had so many occasions where I've attempt to watch it, or a scene from it, but ended up having to switch it of before I start balling. I just can't handle it. I still even now get massively depressed about it -- randomly bursting into tears, or you know, just becoming a general mess at a single thought. The other night, I could not get the image out of my head of Abby standing in the empty apartment at the beginning of the ep. I had the sorest throat from trying to control the tears. Too much to think about.
Pretty sure it is the hardest episode of "ER" for me to watch. Except a few from S14.

I was depressed for 3 months I don't know why but I haven't read the last part of ur post, I only read the part that it was all composed for... But whoa.... I get a little scared what to get in S15. I'm rly excited, coz I just wanna watch the last season. I get a little bit scared about the ending of it. It's a happy ending for them right? RIIIITE? ?!! plz say yes! When I hear u all are almost half a year depressed... I certainly would be too, I'm an easily-getting-depressed-by-nothing-person ;D

The reason I was sad or depressed had nothing to do with the Luby storyline, it was more because Maura also left the show and I kinda lost interest in it.
