Update! And Thank you for your comments. I'm not a doctor. So, sorry for any eventual medical inaccurancy. Kia ------ COUNTY COOK HOSPITAL, CHICAGO “It’s been a bad day, please don’t take a picture. It’s been a bad day, Please” Bad Day, R.E.M. Luka stopped and looked in front of him. His sight grew dim. He quickly blinked twice. Something isn’t working. He erased a patient’s name from the board noticing his hand was trembling a little. All right, something is wrong. Maybe I’m just tired…I’m not sleeping well these days. His lack ok sleep was obviously due to Abby. He had tried to call her more than once but she had never answered him. Plus he hadn’t been able to meet her at work because she had changed all her shifts. That day too she would start three hours after the end of his shift. But he had to find a solution. He had to talk to her the sooner the better. He had kissed her because he had seen something in her eyes. He was sure she had wanted it too. Luka would never forget those moments: the wind blowing against the window, Abby’s fingers on his cheek, the perfume of her skin and the lights reflecting into her big and sweet eyes. At the end he had been able to focused only on her mouth and…it just happened. Luka had thought they were still a couple but few seconds after the kiss she was already out of his door and of his life. Now, the sweet memory of her was the only thing left. He was about to reach a new chart when someone called him. He turned to meet an extremely happy Carter. “Hey! I called Kem and she’s coming there! It’s so incredible! I must thank you: you told me to call her and now…we’re going to see each other!” Luka wasn’t paying attention. Carter was speaking too quickly and this was making his head pound. “…so excited! Luka, have you heard me?...you ok?” “Yes, sorry, I’m just a little tired”, his voice was trembling and his tone was weak, too weak. “Are you sure? You don’t look good…” Haleh intervened: “Dr Carter is right. You are so pale, Dr Kovac. Have you eaten something?” “Yes, a sandwich”. It wasn’t true. He hadn’t had neither breakfast. Carter lost his enthusiastic tone and got worry: “Do you want to take a break? I can handle things for a while” “I…” A group of paramedics entered the ER running: “Gang shooting. We have two teenagers with GSW. Who can take them?” “Carter, take the first one with Jing-Mei. Gallant, you work with me. How many are you bringing in?” “I think two more” “Ok. Randy, page Susan and Pratt. Let’s move people, we don’t have much time” Two hours later things were slowing down. Unfortunately a 15-year-old boy didn’t make it, but Luka saved a girl with collapsed lungs and damaged liver. He left the girl in Elizabeth’s care and went to the admit desk slowly. He sighed. His shift was over, the hospital was quiet and he could finally head home. He took his last chart to sign it but it seemed too heavy to him. He swallowed twice. He felt as if his ears were full of cotton and his head was hurting so much it was just ready to explode. He was sweating and feeling hot. His vision became blurry and he tried steadying himself using the wall but he missed it and start falling. The last thing he heard was Carter calling his name and the feel of his coworker’s fresh hand on his hot forehead…

no replies...mmhh...ok, I need yo know if you're still reading my fic. Otherwise I can stop, it's not a problem. I'll post another update, let me know, ok? Kia FIRST ROUND “E guarirai da tutte le malattie perché sei un essere speciale ed io avrò cura di te”* La cura, F. Battiato Abby arrived running. Without slowing down she threw a look at the semi-empty waiting room and at the board. She scanned quickly the names: Innes, Kovac, Wyle…Kovac? she stopped in her tracks confused. Why is Luka among patients? This must be an error.“Randy? But Dr Kovac…” “Oh yeah. He passed out a while ago. He’s recovering in Trauma Two” “Don’t you know why he fainted?” “Carter told something about a high fever or something like that. Sure, Dr Kovac wasn’t looking any good today” “That’s true”, interrupted Amira, “I clearly heard Carter telling him to take a break. Guess what he’s doing…Luka is not so young anymore to survive his vices…” Abby left her two coworkers still chatting and went right to Trauma Two. She was worried. She hadn’t talked to Luka for days even if she knew she had to. She couldn’t stop thinking at their kiss. She sighed and stopped in front of the door. She could see how pale Luka was. She breathed slowly trying to get calmer and then got in. She sat on the bed and stared at him. His face had the same color of the pillow and he had an IV in his arm. He was sleeping restlessly and his brow was corrugating without stop. His lips were forming some words but they were or mute or incomprehensible. Abby caressed tenderly one of his cheeks and was shocked by its warm. His temperature must be around 100°. She felt incredibly useless and, without even noticing it, she started counting Luka’s hasty breathes. She went on stroking his cheeks and brown hoping to make him feel any better and to break his fever. At fist she couldn’t take her eyes off of his beautiful face so lost in agony but then she looked outside the door and noticed two hazel eyes fixed on her. She left the room and weakly: “What’s happened?” “It’s a malaria relapse. We have to get his temperature under control” “He’s going to recover completely, isn’t he?” “Not completely…don’t look at me like that…he has malaria. But he’ll get trough this crisis. Luckily he was here and not at home…are you ok?” “We haven’t talked to each other for two days. I’m avoiding him” Carter sounded surprised: “Why?” “Two nights ago I went to his house. I was angry with my mother and my brother. We talked a little and then…we kissed. I left immediately” “Did the kiss annoy you?” “No. If I think about it I should admit I wanted it, I really desired it. It lasted a second but it was…nice, beautiful. As if our lips were the only things which mattered. I think I thought I’d like he didn’t stop kissing me” Carter didn’t understand: “Where’s the problem, then?” “I can’t lose my head like that…I just can’t allow myself. I know you don’t understand. I’m scared to be alone with him” They looked rapidly in Luka’s room and they noticed he wasn’t alone. Sam was with him and was taking care of him very eagerly. Abby could read her lips, she was saying: “Honey, soon everything will be ok”. Then the nurse bent down and brushed her lips with Luka’s. Carter tried stopping Abby but she was already in the room facing Sam: “What are you doing?! Leave him alone now!”, Abby was furious. “I’m just taking care of him”, replied innocently Sam. “By kissing him? Who do you think you are? You’re nut!” “You’re so boring…I like him. And I know he likes me too. And you have to admit that Luka only matters they’re women…” “What? !!”, she was crying, “You have no respect. You disgust me. Go away!” “Stop you two. We’re in a hospital. Leave the room and go in the lounge now. We need to speak”, Kerry’s cold voice froze them. They left, followed shortly by the metallic noise of Kerry’s cane. * “And you’ll recover from all illnesses because you’re a special human being and I’ll take care of you” -------- There is a little game in the text. Can you find it? And I know: Sam is not like that. But, forgive me please, I just don'e like her hanging around Luka...

Update! Hope you like it! AWAKENING “Ma è l’unica vita che hai non buttarla mai, vivila più che puoi”* Vita, storia e pensieri di un alieno, Raf Luka opened his eyes. Hit by the light he closed them immediately. “I know you’re awake. Be a good child and open them for me” Carter. Luka opened his eyes again and tried to sit on the bed. His vision became immediately blurry. “No wait! Don’t move. You just need to rest” “Carter?” John had to lean forward to hear Luka’s weak voice. “I’m thirsty…”, murmured he. Carter took a glass of water, and helped Luka drinking it by raising his head. After few sips he took the glass away: “You’re still dehydrated, I can’t give you more. How are you feeling?” “A bit confused. But I’m lucky: you’re always there to save from malaria, because I know it’s malaria, right?”. He was still speaking slowly, concentrating with effort on every word. “Right. Don’t you know what can have caused it? You had all of us worried” “Some nights ago I went out jogging…” “Jogging?” “Don’t scream like that. My head is about to explode. I talked to Thomas and I was really nervous, I know it was stupid…and then it started raining and…” “Are you saying you just went on running under that terrible storm? It isn’t stupid, Luka, it’s criminal! Malaria is not a simple flu, you need to be careful” “Are you mad at me?”, he looked like a child just found out stealing chocolate, “I promise I’ll be more careful, ok?” Carter couldn’t help but smile. Luka was so funny while asking him sorry. “All right. By the way our coworkers think this is the result of a night of extremely hot sex” Luka sneered: “I should say so! How much time do I have to stay here?” “12 hours just to be sure”, Carter stared at Luka a while, “Abby told me about the kiss” “It has been an error” “Maybe not. She doesn’t seem annoyed” “That’s not the point. I like her, I’ve always liked her, and I think it’s mutual. But we have two messy lives. She has university and training and I have therapy. Now it would be only a disaster. If there is another chance for us I want it when it will be all ok”. He stopped and closed his eyes. “Tired?”, a nod, “I’ll let you rest, then. If I convinced Abby going there would you be happy?” Luka’s eyes sprung opened: “Of course! I need to talk to her” “Ok. See you later, bye” Carter stood up and got ready to left. On the door he threw a last look at Luka: he was already asleep. He didn’t even notice the little fight he caused. He smiled lightly to himself and left. *”But this is the only life you have, Don’t throw it away, Live it intensively” -------- I know my joke was very lame, but I have the solution: I used the actors' names as patients' names. Not so funny, I know.

Hi! Sorry for the wait, but my job's driving me crazy! Hope you like it. Kia DROWSINESS “I’m close to you, feeling your heart beating I just wanna stay with you In this moment forever Forever and ever” I don’t want to miss a thing, Aerosmith Luka was feeling very good. He felt light and at ease. He knew he was ill, but strangely he wasn’t feeling any pains or annoyances. In the background he could hear the sound of water and a singing voice. His mother, she was surely the cause of his well-being. He couldn’t remember when he got ill and how old he was; I must be a child if mom stays with me at night. He’d like to wake up and ask her to take him into her double bed and make dad sleep in his little room. In the morning she would kiss his forehead to check his temperature and then she’d let him sleep quietly. Luka would listen to all the noises of the awakening house, of the sea and of his brother getting ready for school. But he didn’t ask anything. He was tired and liked being cuddled by his mom’s sweet voice. His mom, she was so beautiful. She always kept her shiny hair in a tail because it bothered her during her piano sessions. She had the most soft and perfumed skin ever. She was always smiling and her eyes were sparkling with love. Besides when his brother and he weren’t feeling well she was able to cure them. His father said she had been a nurse but Luka knew she was just magic. Sometimes, at night, instead of sleeping he spied his parents: while his mom was playing her piano his dad caressed lightly her neck and shoulder and she laughed and laughed. Luka felt so happy he wanted to laugh too. Without stopping humming Abby was cooling Luka’s damp forehead with a wet washcloth. His temperature was still a little high, but now he was resting quietly. She looked at him: he seemed so peaceful and innocent. She couldn’t help but stare at him: she knew better it wasn’t true. In Luka’s mind the worst demons were still alive. She sighed and dipped the cloth in the water. After having squeezed it she passed it on Luka’s face again. The water was soaking her hands and sleeves but she didn’t care. She wanted to do it even if someone else could do it. She only wanted to keep Sam away from him. If Kerry hadn’t intervened, I’d have slapped her. But Kerry had been there and she had scolded them. I think she’s right. We’ve been not professional. It’s inconceivable two workers had a fight in front of a patient. Even if the patient is Luka. But how is it possible that I’m always in these triangles? Luka and I are fixed vertexes by now. But was it a real triangle? Or maybe it was just a straight line uniting her and him and Sam was only an obstacle. Or maybe Sam was right: Luka was interested in her. But why has he kissed me, then? I just have to stop with all this torturing psychology.Luka opened his eyes and tried to call his mother, but the words died on his lips. He wasn’t at home, there wasn’t the sea, he wasn’t clearly a child and his mom wasn’t there with him. He met another wonderful smile. Abby’s. Suddenly he found her presence obvious. And who else, otherwise? “Hi. How are you?” “I’m feeling better, now”, and it was true, “I’m glad to see you”, and this too was true. “Me too”. She took one of his hands and kissed lightly his fingers, “I’m glad you’re ok” They smiled at each other. There was no need to speak about the kiss. Between them, for them, it was all clear and simple.

Update!
CARTER “I’ll be there for you when the rain starts to fall” I’ll be there for you, The Rembrants
There were still ten minutes left. What are ten minutes in men’s life? Nothing. Even waking up, showering and getting dressed required more time. Why were those ten minutes so eternal for Carter then? Ten minutes and the plane would land. And he had to wait other minutes; she had to pass customs and look for her luggage but then finally she would be there. John was very nervous. That morning he had looked at himself in the mirror trying to assume a calm but happy expression. But he knew he failed: without looking he knew he had an anxious expression. The well-known “What ifs” were running wildly into his mind and he knew she would notice. He saw the first passengers approaching the gate and his mind shut down. His eyes ran rapidly among the crow like an eagle looking for a prey. She isn’t there, she isn’t there…but then there she was! She spotted him immediately and increased her speed smiling. He moved instinctively towards her, without realizing what was going to happen. Then she was lost in his embrace. Carter looked into her eyes and kissed her. At first he feared she would pull away but she kissed him back passionately. Three hours after Carter looked at Kem: she was sleeping with her head on his shoulder. He couldn’t believed what had just happened. He had never had sex with a woman he had just met. But he knew Kem meant something special for him and he couldn’t deny he had hoped this to happen. He chuckled making her wake up. “Good morning!”, he kissed lightly her nose, “Slept well?” “Yes. The trip was so exhausting…” “The trip?!” She smiled: “Do you reserve this kind of attention to every girl who come here to meet you?” “No, only to the cutest ones”, he paused, “Are you hungry?” Kem was playing with Carter’s hair: “I don’t know. I’m still feeling the jet lag. John, how did we arrive there?” “I think we left the airport, we took a cab and…” “Are you sure? I mean, can you see the two of us sitting in a cab?” Silence. “Actually no. But I can’t see any other possibility” They stood silent for a while. Kem was still caressing his hair. Carter stood up: “I’m rather hungry. I’ll take something to eat” “And do you go all naked? What if someone sees you through the window…” “I don’t care. Do you think this will be such a terrible show?” “I don’t think so”, laughed Kem. John laughed with her. “You are a little jealous, aren’t you?” She stared at him with a mischievous grin. Carter approached the bed, food already forgotten. After, Kem went to take a shower. Carter was lying in bed dozing happily. He was almost falling asleep when the phone rang: “Yeah?” “Hi, it’s Luka. Is Kem arrived?” “Yes, I went to pick her up” “And are you already at home? Did you take her to her hotel?” “No” “And where is she? Did you two have a fight?” “She’s here with me” “There?”, Luka stood silent for a while, “Oh…I’m sorry! I hope I didn’t interrupt anything” Carter felt embarrassment in Luka’s voice. “You didn’t. She’s taking a shower now” “I think I should greet you, then. Hey Carter, congrats!” “Thank you. See you tomorrow” “If you could still walk…”. He laughed and hung up. John laughed too. Maybe Luka was going to be right…

Hi, I'm back! I don't know if there's still someone reading this, but...UPDATE! Hope you like it DR THOMAS GOLDSTEIN’S OFFICE “So well trained, so animal” Come Undone, R. Williams Luka was standing while looking outside the window. Outside, the garden was being quenched by a strong and beating rain. Inside, nobody was talking. The room was lightened by thunders and the only noise was produced by the storm. Luka was breathing with intermittence, waiting nervously for Thomas’s question, which hit him like a sabre cut. “Luka, could you tell me about Congo?” Thomas was talking quietly as if he didn’t want to disturb the power of Nature which was giving spectacle outside. Luka didn’t want to answer. He breathlessly tried not to think and change the subject, but, at the very last moment, he found himself answering: “There’s no much to say. I was there with a no-profit association. I was at Matenda Clinic for some vaccinations. The rebels attacked us. The great part of doctors left. Patrique and I stayed there with three or four patients who cannot move. During the night the rebels came back. I was sick with malaria. They captured us. They killed every man but me. That’s all. There’s nothing else to say” Thomas was shocked by Luka’s coldness. It was as if he was describing a series of pictures which were running quickly in his mind. He knew there was much more to say. “It’s too simple that way, Luka. I don’t need the short version. I want the real truth” Luka turned around abruptly. Thomas could see in his eyes a storm far worse than the outside one. The thunders were illuminating his face making him pale as a dead, but Thomas was startled by his burning look. “The truth? Do you want the real truth?”, his voice was so intense and strong, Thomas thought he was facing pure power not just a simple human-being. “Everything was going good, the rebels were far away, and I don’t know why I decided to stay when they got closer, maybe I was feeling superior, «I’ve already seen it, I know how to handle it», but I was wrong, I thought I could protect everyone, and they captured us, I don’t know, I don’t really know, I was already ill, the fever, the previous night I’d been in the forest and it was raining as today, and I was freezing and burning up and shaking and shaking, and Patrique wanted to help me and I wanted them to leave, it was dangerous, but they didn’t leave, or better Patrique, Chance and her mother stayed with me, all the others went away during the night while I was sleeping restlessly because of the fever, and then we were all there our pulses tied, with people I didn’t know, researchers I don’t know, and we had to stay knelt, our hands behind our heads, and I couldn’t, I was so weak and I kept falling, my face into the dust, and the rebels hit me and I had to raised myself and remained knelt, and there was the sun, a terrible sultriness and we were all there waiting to die, and they took Chance’s mother into a tent and I heard her cries but I couldn’t move, I stayed there and then they began to shoot us, and they killed Patrique, I know it because his blood hit me in the face, and it was warm, warmer than the sun and I fell again and I don’t know, I didn’t understand anything, I was so sick and maybe they thought I was a priest, maybe Chance’s mother told them I was a priest and they didn’t kill me, but I didn’t care because I was dying, finally, and I was so calm, I wasn’t afraid, maybe I was about to end up suffering and hurting, I was ready, ready to die, and I don’t know what happened, who took me away from Matenda, but when I woke up I was lying on a dirty floor and shaking, raving and imploring Death to come and take me, but no, there was only someone who was giving me something to drink, water I couldn’t keep down and then I fell asleep again and I believed, again, I was going to die and instead when I woke up I was ready to be put on a plane flying to Chicago, me who I wanted only to die, maybe my life is death, I don’t know, and Carter was there, and he saved me but I’ll never be saved. Saved” He had almost talked without breathing. Now, his breath was breaking into irregular and noisy gulps. Thomas stood up and put his hand around the younger man’s waist. Luka collapsed against him. “I need to sit” Without a word the doctor helped him sitting and put one of his hands on his shoulder. Luka was trembling. He looked again outside: “It’s still raining”, his voice lower than a murmur, “like that night in the jungle. I tried to distinguish all the sounds but all I could think about was that it was raining like the night Danijela and I had kissed for the first time. Now I can only remember that African night, my fear and my trembling. They took another memory away from me. What can I do?” His last breath turned into a sob. Thomas tried comforting him but he knew it was impossible. It’s so young and he has to face so much hurting. Where’s justice?

Oh my... I thought this story was finished! New chapter! Hope you like it. LUKA’S HOUSE “E un angelo bianco seduto vicino alla finestra”* Ninna Nanna, Modena City Ramblers Laurentis Kovac couldn’t sleep. He was still feeling the effects of jet-lag, and though it was one am in Chicago, for his body it was eight in the morning. And I’m used to get up early too. Something that his son had inherited. But, obviously, it wasn’t morning for Luka and so at the moment he was sleeping peacefully in his bed. After turning and tossing for a whole hour Laurentis decided getting up. He went tiptoeing to the living room and looked around. A beautiful black leather couch, turned towards the big window, stood in the middle of the room. At the left a bookcase full of papers, books and… Laurentis neared it. From the shelf three people were smiling at him: him, some years younger, Josif and Luka who was looking very happy. How long since I have seen him laughing that way? Next the first picture there was another shot held in an elegant silver frame: Nina, his beloved wife and mother of his two sons, playing her piano. Laurentis turned around. He saw a shelf where a stereo and an incredible number of CDs sat. One of his picture was hanged on the wall. It wasn’t an abstract one and it represented an angel, who gave his back to the observer while his head was slightly turned, so it was possible to see one of his melancholic and sweet eyes. Luka didn’t know but that was the way his father had always imagined him and Laurentis was proud Luka had never found out. He moved his sight along the wall and noticed another picture. It was the well known group of friends: Ivan, Natalija, Nadija, Rade, Miran, Monika and Damir. Luka was standing among them and was smiling happily. Laurentis yawned and went to the kitchen. He drank a glass of water by reading a politician’s last interview on a newspaper. Luka had written some sarcastic comments on the margin. Some things never change. He felt the impelling need to see his son so he walked straight towards his bedroom. He pushed the door and went in. Luka was sleeping on his side and was almost hidden by the covers. Laurentis felt a strong wave of tenderness shaking his body: I don’t care how old he is, he’s still my little baby…He remembered him when he was a child fast asleep in Nina’s arms. His Luka. So strong yet fragile that he had wanted him in Chicago to support him during his too difficult therapy. Laurentis had immediately left Croatia. At the airport he had seen that Luka was too thin and defenseless and he had hugged him strongly to give him all his warm. But during that evening he had noticed in Luka’s eyes a reflex of his old and passionate vitality and he had hoped to have his son back. He was missing so much that little crazy Luka who wasn’t afraid of anything, who had learnt playing piano by himself, who never gave up, who had kissed Josip’s girlfriend because he didn’t know she was going to became his sister-in-law. That Luka who had held his mother’s hand till the end while she couldn’t help but look at him lovingly. Luka was still sleeping. On his nightstand a glass of water, a half read book and some pills for malaria. Luka was resting like a tight ball and Laurentis could easily lay down on the bed. He synchronized his breathing to Luka’s and took hold of his hand. He felt a strong desire to protect him from everything. I’d like you to be still five. It was so simple making you feel ok. Five years old: Marko and Jasna would never be that old. Don’t think at this now: your kid is here with you. He hold tighter Luka’s hand awaking him. “Tata?” * “Shhh, I didn’t mean to wake you up. Go back to sleep, it’s still early” * * “Ok. Dad?” * * “Yeah?” * * “Thank you. I love you” * * “I love you too.* Laku noæ” “Laku noæ” And also Laurentis fell asleep. * “And a white angel sitting on your window”

Sorry for the wait. But now I'm back! Chapter 23: DOC MAGOO’S “Ma quando ridi il mondo mi sembra tutto illogico, bellissimo”* Amore mi dai, Paola & Chiara It was a warm spring day and Abby, Amira, Sam and Jing-Mei were eating their lunch at Doc Magoo’s. Abby needed to be informed about last gossip news and so she had decided to go out with her friends. Friends. She didn’t consider Sam as one of her friends of course, but only Carter and Kerry knew what had happened between them in Luka’s room, so they were pretending everything was ok. Obviously the rumor mill had noticed the two of them weren’t getting along very well but they didn’t say anything: they were just waiting for more details. Amira was saying something about Susan and her ex husband when Abby heard it: It was a rich, strong sound full of joy. A laughter. But it was so involving one would stop doing everything to start laughing. The four of them turned around and got shocked. They saw Carter, Luka and an older man they didn’t know sitting at a table. The most shocking thing was that the fabulous laughter came from Luka. The girls looked at each other; no one had ever seen Luka laughing so heartedly. In Abby’s mind Gordana Horvat’s words rang immediately; she had defined him “University Fool, with a laughter that made the whole University tremble”. She is right. This is the most beautiful sound in the world. At that moment the three men spotted them and waved in their direction. Sam, Amira and Jing-Mei stood immediately and approached the table. Abby quickly followed them. “Good morning, ladies. Are you taking a break?” “Yes. Luka, I’m so glad you’re feeling better. But I’m not surprised: You were under my soo intensive care…”, Sam was always the same. The old men stared at her: “Maybe you’re right. But I’m sure Luka didn’t need these mincing ways” “Oh, I’m sorry. This is my father, Laurentis. He’s there on visit. Dad, they’re Sam, Jing-Mei, Amira and Abby” “Nice to meet you. Would you like to sit with us?” “Actually our break is over” “That’s a shame!”, he moved his look on Abby. He has Luka’s eyes. “And you, Abby?” “I’ve still fifteen minutes left, but I…” “You should sit down, then! Luka, don’t look at me like that! You’ve spoken about her for so long that…” * “Dad, stop it! You promised!” * * “Ok, I’m sorry” * Abby and Carter were looking at each other very nervously. “I’ve an idea. Why don’t you ask her to come Saturday night?” “Saturday night?”, Abby asked Luka, but the answer arrived from Carter: “Kem found a job here, so we’re going out to celebrate” “… and”, Luka intervened, “… my father would like to see Chicago by night” “But I shouldn’t come then!” “No, there’s no problem. You work hard every day and you’re young, you need a night out. I think I’m too old for this… I’m staying at home, don’t worry for me” Abby was torn; she wanted to go but she didn’t know Luka’s mind. “Are you coming, then? It would be great. Would you do it for me?” Abby looked at Luka again. He could be very persuading when he wanted to. Plus, she liked what she could see in his eyes. And she'd like to soend some time with him. “Ok, I’m coming” “That’s great! I’ll pick you up at eight” “Where are we going?” “This is very funny. We’re going to a Croatian restaurant” “Croatian?” “Do you have something against Croatian food?” Abby blushed: “No, no Mr. Kovac… it’s only that I’ve never eaten it and…” “Really? I can’t see the problem. Don’t you trust Luka?” Are we still talking about food?“I… of course I do”, Luka smiled at her, “Ok, I’m ready for Croatian food then!” * “But when you laugh The world seems So illogical, so beautiful”

I liked it very much, furthermore the part "Don’t you trust Luka?” hehe... of course, of course she does... and the weird tension between her and Sam... Just great. And you know, friday's tomorrow night... so I'll be waiting for you to write about it ;D
