Hi everyone, this is my first FF.
A couple of things:
- this is an alternative season 10. Luka is just come back from Africa, Carter is still in Congo and Abby is back in med school.
- This will be centered mostly on Luka, Abby and Carter.
- Parts in Italics are thoughts.
- It will be Luby, trust me. No Carby, no Samka, but Luby. You only have to wait a little, ok?
so, let's start.
Ah. One last thing. My English...it sucks, I know. So, sorry in advance if you won't understand...
It’s a well - known truth that your thoughts torment you most during the night. Luka wasn’t an exception.
And so he was laying on his bed, lost in thought. He was deceived, especially of himself. Congo had seemed to have fixed things, but he had just discovered it wasn’t true. Back in Chicago, he was still having the same problems he was having when he had left. He had also received a letter from Gillian. People obviously thought it was trendy ending a relationship with a letter. At first Carter and then Gillian. He knew perfectly their relationship was meant to end, but she could have left him before going to Canada. Women. They were the worst of his problems.
He thought at Danijela. He hadn’t minded at all waiting their wedding night. But it was deep love and not sex. Now, he was having a great time in using women as if they were paper tissues. No one could resist him and how could they? Luka wasn’t naïve. He knew Nature had been very generous with him.
And he could clearly see the beginning of a new adventure with nurse Sam. But it was more complicated this time, and he couldn’t really comprehend why. Honestly he couldn’t understand his new morality. He had had sex with strangers, patients’ mothers, prostitutes and colleagues and now he was feeling blocked. Maybe it was because of Alex, Sam’s child, who seemed to like Luka a lot. He liked Alex too, but he didn’t want to commit himself so early, it was just a deal too big for him. But Luka knew there was something else. Maybe the “real” Luka was coming back and was trying to destroy the soulness Luka he had become. Luka didn’t want to know the fight’s winner. The “real” Luka was a good man, but he had realized that being mean was simpler because nobody would expect nothing from you. He was so fascinated by the charm of Evil. If only he could stand his reflection in the mirror…
How long is this night lasting? Luka turned lazily on his back and looked outside the window. It was so dark so he couldn’t avoid his most hidden thought. Abby. Carter had left her and she had said she was fine but who could tell? She had sometimes visited him when he was still sick and they had been very close. But now she had no time for him. She was attending Med school again and he was happy for her. He was sure she would become a great doctor. What if will she leave when she graduates and she goes to another hospital? In Minnesota maybe? He sighed painfully. He couldn’t answer such questions. But finally he saw the first rays of the sun and he thanked the light which drove away the darkness.
