Even though there is a lot of angst ( what a cliffhanger with Maggie! ), I found these lines so REFRESHING.... Love the idea of Luka and Abby at the same age, at the same school. He is so protective of her. This is really a " first love" , and the lines are really BEAUTIFUL. Hope Abby will take happiness in her hands as much as possible, as I foresee some hardships coming! The lines about the frogs are hilarious. Who the hell could dissect frogs at school, without wanting to throw up or slap the teacher with a punch hole!!!! ( (WINK), remember, guys, this is Abby's fave weapon....ask Morris!

Sorry I disappeared on you guys for a while My mother likes to go visit places often and of course drags me along so I haven't had time to update. Anyway here it is Next update will be much happier and a lighter one.I'm just in a really sour mood right now. She listened to the sound of the rain, the only sound that held peace within her turbulent soul. She couldn’t describe what she exactly felt at the moment; her emotions were just blurred together in one huge lump that sat at the pit of her stomach. She felt angry, lost, scared, and sad. The last day seemed too unreal to be her life, a part of her yelled that leave and let other people deal with her problems, but her sane part told her that she had to deal with her problems, because after all they were her family, her problems. She looked out the window from her mother’s hospital room; she refused to look at her mother right now. Maggie had regained consciousness a few hours ago and had apologized hysterically, claiming that it was an accident and that she was just too depressed about her recent boyfriend going back to his former wife. Abby had watched the doctors poked and touched her mother, giving orders. Abby vowed not to get involved with anyone who was married, when she got older. Maggie had finally settled into a deep sleep. Abby’s limbs felt strangely detached to her body as she continued to stare out of the window into the dark damp streets. She grabbed her jacket and made into a decent pillow, and placed it under Eric’s head to replace her lap. His eyes looked all puffy and his face blotchy from crying. Abby had seen the fear in his eyes when she had yelled for him to call an ambulance. He wanted to go into the bathroom but she hadn’t let him, she didn’t want him to see their mother like that. She breathed quietly before walking out of the hospital room. The rain had turned into a steady light drizzle, as she stepped out into the street and out of the bright hospital. Her eyes had to adjust to the sudden light change, and the stung for a brief second as she looked back into the hospital. She kept walking out until she felt the sudden urge to runaway from her problems came over her, thought it was emotionally impossible she made it physically possible as she broke into a sprint. She continued to run even as her legs begged her to stop, the felt as if they were on fire. She felt a cold sweat on her forehead as she continued to run. She had thought it was impossible to run as fast as she was running as that moment, at school during track she just walked or jogged. She didn’t give it her full strength as she was at that moment. Her mind grew blank as she continued to run, eventually slowing down more and more until she completely stopped. She looked around, breathing hard, and realized that she was at the park. She raised her eyebrows for a second, as she continued to try to control her heartbeat that she could her in her ears, she could almost feel it beating through her skin. She collapsed on a bench and closed her eyes. She opened them when she felt someone sit next to her on the bench. She didn’t want to see him right now, not right now. “Abby?” he asked quietly as he looked at her. She wasn’t sure if she tell him the truth. She could go with her usual “I’m fine” theory, but then again, why lie? “My mother is in the hospital.” “I’m sorry, is she okay?” he asked. “She always is.” Abby said bitterly. He looked confused. “She tried to…” she paused breathing deeply, “ she overdosed on pills.” “On purpose?“ he asked cautiously. She looked at him straight in the eyes. “Yes.” She looked away as he did. But then felt his fingers lace around hers. The small act made her want to cry, she felt them on the edge of her eyes. “When?” he asked suddenly. “Last night.” “You could’ve called me you know.” “I usually deal with everything on my own.” “I want to be there for you, someone you can come to.” he said as he gazed at her again. She couldn’t hold it in anymore, it was too much. She felt her tears slide down her cheeks and mixing in with the misty drizzle. She took her warmed hand out of his and placed it over her face. She felt him tug her hands gently off her face and he pulled her into an embrace. She melted into him and let herself cry jut for the moment soaking his jacket. She eventually closed her eyes and so did he.

Coffequeen, (love the name...etc...etc... ) What is so heartbreaking is that Abby's despair seems to have no solution. Her running away is an escape from prison, but the outside environment is as hostile as the hospital. Only Luka can calm her down, and give her his support but very cautiously, as though she was on the point of breaking down. Very emotional and powerful lines.

I was listening to music and my brain was illuminated!! I know it might not be the best, but tell me what think so far!! Ands thanks for the karma, realdream!!
It had been a month since that day in the park and Maggie’s suicide attempt. Tension was high whenever they were together, and they were both very aware of when their skin touched, of their movements.
“Luka, hurry. Come on, come on. “Abby held the door open and motioned for him to go inside. She was grinning although she was cold, soaked, and hungry. “Ouch. Hot. Hands burning.” Luka said as he entered the apartment darting straight for the dark wooden table and place the bag of takeout on it, before dropping his backpack on the tile floor of the kitchen and shaking out his hands. “You are so incredibly overdramatic.” Abby said as she shook her head and wiped the cold rain water off her face. “You try carrying a bag of blazing hot food and leave you hands there while its burning your hands and then get back to me.” he said as he narrowed his eyes playfully. “Alright, alright. I’m gonna go change.” she called back as she walked into her room and rummaged through her drawer.
She let out a breath and eventually chose warm, baggy, navy colored pj pants and a black t-shirt with a lime green logo that said I’m on a mission. She continued to look around and found a large shirt that probably fit Luka. She walked back out and found him already eating the Chinese takeout that they had bought on there way to her apartment. “Here I’m not sure if it’ll fit, but…well it probably will.” she said as she tossed him the shirt. “Thanks.” he stopped to chew the rest of the food that was in his mouth. “Hey, where’s my food?” “Bag.” he answered too preoccupied getting as much food on his fork as possible. “Thanks.” “Where’s Maggie?” “She’s on a school camping trip with Eric, the school doesn’t know about what happened, and she told the hospital that it was an accidental overdose. I have no idea how they actually believed her but they did.” she said as she stopped eating and looked towards the window.
Her eyes became somewhat vacant and distant, as she stared at the drops of water that made their way down the window in little rivers. She felt very sensitive when it came to Maggie, it was like picking a scab and making bleed again, hitting a bruise that’s already purple and blue. She tilted her head back and looked up at the ceiling, but was very well aware that he was watching her every move. “I wish my life were different. I feel like even if my mother will stay on her meds as she promised and we don‘t move around and she keeps her job, and our lives become somewhat normal; its too late. Damage is done, like…” she stopped unsure what to say. as she brought her gaze back down slowly to meet his. “like a cut that’s healed but there is still a scar left.” it was a statement not a question. She nodded. She had forgotten that his life hadn’t been easy either. She took a deep breathe and tore her eyes away from his.
The silence covered them like a blanket. “You know its funny, most girls my age only worry about their image and what they’re going to wear to so and so’s party. But I have to worry about making sure my mother paid the bills, took her meds, and won’t try to kill me in my sleep.” She said as she smiled ruefully. Her eyes held much rancor when she said that. “I worry about you.” “Why?” she asked, although she wasn’t sure she wanted to hear the answer. “Don’t you don’t know?” he asked he in return. “Yes.” she whispered barely loud enough for him to hear.
She followed his movements that were like liquid with her eyes as he brought his lips to meet hers. She didn’t move, but didn’t hesitate to kiss him back either. For once their pain slowly drained away as the only thing that was real and mattered was each other, their lips, their breathing, and their heartbeats. The contact was overwhelming but at the same time was the most beautiful feeling a human being could experience.
