pasting from another board...not my words...don't throw me to any legal eagle...just good intentions all the way (and i know that the road to hell is paved with good intentions, we have a saying like that in romania..not sure if it's an international thought! )
<<Lena and Sophia are the gorgeous adult twin daughters of a patient of Morris’s. They flirt with him mercilessly but Morris tries hard to be “good.” He is apparently wearing some sort of ring—perhaps a promise ring of some sort--that he fiddles with when they talk with him. But he says he is not married. He behaves himself and is frustrated and takes it out on Frank, yelling that Abby is right, things don’t get done around there, though we don't see Abby complaining in these few pages. She drops in to give a diagnosis and that's it. Pratt seems to be amused by Morris.
Coburn is doing an amnio (or perhaps a fetal blood sampling) on Traci, the patient mentioned in the material Storm reported Wednesday. Neela and Harold are there. Traci is very scared and Julia, the chaplain, holds her hand and prays with her.
Kayson wrote discharge orders for a patient and Gates cancelled them. Moretti is not pleased with Gates' problem-solving strategy and accuses him of sticking his head in the sand.
We got information on recurring character Julia, the chaplain, which also seems to straddle two episodes. I haven’t gone over it carefully, but as I said, this material needs to be blended with Storm’s notes from the other night. Briefly, the procedure they are doing on Traci with the amnio needle might be some sort of fetal blood sampling since they enter the umbilical cord. Abby is annoyed by the noise of child clanging an emesis basin and asks the mother to make her stop, which causes the child to give an ear-shattering wail. Gates meets Julia and finds her a great contradiction. He is back in the ER. In a future episode perhaps (as I said, not blended yet), Gates’ patient Joshua is dying. It seems Abby might have missed another diagnosis on a patient, but Pratt shares the blame. Someone named Skye says that Sam was hero, but Sam doesn’t want to take props for whatever she did.
In the teaser, Neela thinks Harold is the son of a man who had a heart attack, but no, he’s her new intern. Meanwhile, Harold doesn’t have a drivers license and that is upsetting to Morris who needs it for the hospital’s security records. Morris thinks Harold is crafty.
Sam and Gates treat a man with an abnormal heart rhythm and who wants to be a good dad – he’s the boyfriend of a pregnant woman – who is being treated by Neela and Harold. She is worried for her baby. Harold thinks the woman has contracted an infection from her job as a pre-school teacher. He’s all science and not good with human emotions. Neela is strict with Harold, and over the day, it upsets him greatly.
Abby is sleepy and needs aspirin as she approaches her patient, a 55 year-old personal trainer who has a skin infection on his thigh and upper arm. Abby also treats a woman who needs to stop wearing high heels while another patient’s child bangs on an emesis basis. The noise starts to get to Abby and she "expresses her frustration" by asking the mother to stop the child.
As Act III starts, Morris is treating a man who has an abscess and needs to be admitted for treatment. His daughter is beautiful and sells luxury cars. While Morris obviously fingers his ring, he blurts out that he’s not married, but somehow must tell the woman he is not interested. Later he meets the identical twin of the first and they tell him they work together by saying they do everything together. He’s trying to be good. And he is good but cranky after the opportunity passes by.
Gates meets Julia, a chaplain who doesn’t look like a chaplain – diamond stud nose stud, and she figures out Gates pretty quickly. She goes into be with the pregnant woman and is there as Neela, Coburn and others do a test. The two pray together.
Meanwhile, Dr. Kayson discharged the father/boyfriend with an abnormal heart rhythm and Gates cancels those orders. Morettti is about to berate him when the patient deteriorates. But Julia is able to comfort the mother who does have the baby and it seems that all turns out well.
Gates notices Julia’s tattoo and inquires more because Julia seems to be a contradiction. Julia talks about how she has a spiritual life but lives in the real world. She suggests Gates should try it sometime.
When Neela discovers how upset Harold is at the “mean demeanor” she has been instructed to give, she confesses to him that she doesn’t like it either. Crenshaw approaches and she tells Harold to “play along.” In front of Crenshaw, Neela is mean and nasty and Harold does in fact, play along. Crenshaw is impressed.>>
hope it helps
