Maybe Croatia is comming ? Stormwatcher77 At TEE The spoilers to this point feature Lowell, a 19 year old with Downs Syndrome. He’s brought in with his mother, Melissa, after a traffic accident. Lowell Is not badly injured but his mother is, or her condition is complicated by a prior medical issue that will ultimately cause an untimely death. She has told Lowell that she was going to die soon. Lowell never met his father and fears that his father didn’t want to know him. But the father, Pierce, does come, and seems to confirm to the doctors that Melissa had signed a DNR. It turns out that Melissa never told Pierce about Lowell, but as the doctors take out the intubation, he assures Melissa that he’ll take care of “their son.” Julia, the chaplain, is there to create a “blessing and a memorial” as Melissa dies. Meanwhile, Frank knows that Gates and Julia have been sleeping together. Harold, Neela and Dubenko were holding a costume rehearsal of a living nativity scene when a camel bites Dubenko’s leg. It is not too serious as he is operating later. Sam is on transport duty and brings in Melissa and Lowell. The work is part of her training. She also does a risky procedure while Dubenko and Neela prepare for surgery. Morris laments more about his father’s neglect while treating Lowell, and then is counting beds and seems happy when he reaches 300. Luka’s father has died and he is taking Abby and Joe back to Croatia. Abby is picking up dry cleaning and leaves a phone message for Neela that she needs other clothes still at the old apartment, but that she’ll just go over and pick them up. Later, Luka is playing with baby Joe in the apartment, asking him if he can say “airplane” and “Croatia.” Even later, Abby pours vodka out of a shampoo bottle into the sink and washes it away with water, juxtaposed to a scene where Julia talks about water as a cleaning and purification element.

so they really are going to drag this on forever... the only good thing in that on other board people say there are just a few pages from this episode...so maybe something interesting does happen....

I really hoped Abby would be getting some sort of rehab by now, not sneaking around with vodka in a shampoo bottle. What is she doing???
Poor Dubenko! A camel bite? He just had a leg injury from a hockey game. Stop beating him up! Seeing the surgeons in costume should be funny though. Last year was great with Abby the Elf and Luka the Deer.
The main patient story sounds sad. And Luka's dad dying.
I don't know what to think of the Sam stuff. It's too much like Carol and then Abby wanting to be more than nurses.
Are we going to get anything cheerful for Christmas this year?

[/b][/quote] So, that's it?! It's riddiculous! Is this the way how she's going to stop drinking? 'cause, if it is...then it's a baaad storyline.

maybe abby pulls something a la eric . remember when she had to attend gamma's funeral and eric was off his meds and fell on the coffin? maybe we'll get a replay and this time drunk abby is doing something at this funeral.
kidding.
i'm starting to think that tptb are out of ideas and the highlight of these was abby drinking alone.
however, i'm still keping my hopes up for something thrilling

I hope Abby pouring the stuff in the sink isn't the end of the storyline. It's not really believable after all the time she spends getting so drunk that one night of pouring stuff in the bathroom sink without ever letting anyone know about her problems is going to solve it all. She needs to go to meetings or to rehab or something. And Luka needs to find out what a problem her drinking is/can be.

Heh... the drinking story might finally be over! Am I the only person happy about this? To be honest I don't really care if it's realistic, TPTB have been a bit rubbish at follow-up of late so I'm not expecting much. And it's the 300th episode, ergo major turning point.
And anyway, there are presumably conversations between Luka and Abby that are unspoiled per Joe Sachs' blog post, so I wouldn't lose hope about that yet.

I cannot take these spoilers anymore.....! the whole Abby drinking thing is confusing me, one minute is she drinking all over the place and now she pouring it down the sink! what's going on..? and surely its coming up to the end of Goran's 4 episode, so just how is it all going to end for Lubby...? i want to know NOW! Dam you spoilers...! you're bad for my health! you'll be the death of me! However... On the plus side it does look hopeful for a Croatian episode depending on how long Goran will be around, either that or we will just get to hear about it..! and also a possible route for him finding out about her drinking again...?! maybe Luka finds out about Abby's drinking at the airport because the staff there remember her from when she turned up there before!.......Just kidding! Also, i know this sounds very heartless of me but am kinda glad his dad has died because they can get back to some sort of normality but i suppose knowing TPTB is won't be....! i want them to go back in time to 'Sea change' just before Luka got the phone call at a time when they were so happy! Sorry it all very jumbled, am just so confused and scared we want get a happy lubby ending! I wish i could see into the future....

You're right; the "Drink-n-Go" down the sink is I think meant to be the "this far and no further" moment for Abby. Interesting to see how and when she talks to Luka because I'm sure that's what the "intense" stuff alluded to in the blog will be, and at the moment it looks like it will come after this. And hee - Cranky will get a good laugh out of the whole Shampoo Boy connection I'm sure.

Aww....Cranky. Did I read right that she isn't writing recaps any more??? Bwwwaaaa. And I thin you may be right about 'this far and no more' point with Abby. Maybe we get to see her returning to a meeting and setting up a visit with a sponsor. She already KNOWS how to deal with this when she is ready. Why do we have to go the rehab route?? Maybe Luka and Joe will stay in Croatia and we will get to see her come to terms with this drinking bout as she finishes her residency and THEN we get to have a Croatian reunion by season's end? I'd buy that.

Based on the spoilers I've seen, it would appear that Abby does not, in fact, go to Croatia. She's pouring the alchohol down the sink in their apartment, at night. And given that they're supposed to leave that night...I smell some introspective alone time. And frankly, that's okay with me. Abby's at her most interesting when left to her own devices (as we saw in her evolution during s10).
Perhaps being deprived of a warm body and responsibility (assuming Luka takes Joe to Croatia to give Abby some space to deal with her issues) will force some serious maturation. And it would set up a happy ending rather nicely, albeit contrived and ultra-cheesey.

Also, i believe this would be Goran's 3rd full episode he has been in, so if in fact he's only in 4, one more episode might tie it up nicely!
