Thanks for the comments guys!! Makes me want to write more!! Any feedback is appriciated!! Here's the next chapter!! Chapter 28 2 Days Later“Hey,” Luka’s voice penetrated Abby’s mind. She turned around to see him standing in her doorway. “Are you ready?” Abby was going back to work after a week off. Kerry would have preferred her staying home another day, but Abby just wanted to get back to work. She wanted everything to go back to as normal as possible. She had spent yesterday reflecting on how her life had changed after Tommy had died, and what Tommy would think about this whole situation. Had he not died, she realized that she would not be in this situation and this might have been her and Tommy’s baby. And she wished that it was. However, it wasn’t, but she was having a baby. And as far as everyone was to know it was her and Luka’s baby, and they were happy about it. “Yeah,” Abby said with little pep in her voice. She stood up and pushed her hair out of her face. “So, you remember what we’re telling everyone?” “Yes, Abby. It’s going to be alright.” “I know…I do. It’s just…” “You’re worried about telling Jake?” Luka asked, although he knew it was the case. She had been fretting about that since they had decided to go with Plan B. She was worried about lying right to his face about the baby not being his. The plan sounded good, but actually carrying out was going to be a different ballgame. He and Abby would not only be lying to the others, they would be lying to Jake as well. “I am, but it’s what I have to do.” “Good, it’ll be just fine, Ab. I’ll be right there with you the whole time.” Luka told her as he took her hand. “I know,” Abby answered him with a genuine smile. “The baby and I are so lucky to have you.”

She couldn’t believe that Susan had let Luka move in with them. She hadn’t even asked her." Just after Abby finds out she is pregnant. and 2) Quoted "Ok so Abby and Luka are not together at the minute, Jake never left and is married to a doctor called Kelly. He and Abby never went out but are very good friends. Susan and Carter are together. Abby never had an abortion but gave the baby up for adoption and a patient that she was really close to and falling for passed away and left her a lot. Might be occ aswell but here goes nothing. They do however work in the hospital." Suzanne has explained everything in the story that is going to be different compared to the actual ER story line.... eg. jake and abby never went out or susan and carter are together, or the fact that when Abby was pregnant with Richard, she never had an abortion like in the ER story line but gave it up for adoption.Really good update suzanne

Thanks guys!! Sorry if you find it confusing!! Heres the next chapter!! Chapter 29 In the locker roomToday all of the interns were to meet Weaver in the hallway for their assignments for the day, so Abby knew everyone would be getting ready in the locker room at the same time. Abby decided that now was the best time as ever to tell them all, even though she knew that Susan and Neela knew already. “Alright,” Abby finally said, as she finished putting on her scrubs. Jake, Susan, and Neela looked up at Abby. Luka walked over to her and took her hand. “Well, as some of you know and some of you don’t…well…I, I mean, Luka and I are having a baby.” Abby paused, getting a small reaction from the girls, but a big one from Jake. His eyes popped open and he stood to say something, however Abby stopped him and continued to speak. “Yes, we’re having a baby. We-uh- had a few nights together and so, we aren’t a couple or anything, but we are keeping the baby. We are going to raise the baby as friends. As far of where we’re going to live, or any other plans, we haven’t figured that out yet.” Susan stood up from the bench and took Abby’s free hand and smiled at her. “That’s really great, Abby,” then her eyes wavered to Luka, “for the both of you.” Susan looked back to Abby. “And you don’t need to move out. There is plenty of room in my place for you guys and a baby.” “Thanks Susan,” Abby told her sincerely. “Yeah, congrats,” Neela filled in. “Just don’t put me on baby duty. I don’t do kids.” “Well, um, we should probably go, Weaver will be waiting for us,” Abby stated, trying to avoid Jake and his questions for now. She knew that she couldn’t ignore him forever. Yet Jake wasn’t going to let her get away with this. He blocked her path to the door and stood in front of her questioningly. Abby took a deep sigh. “Jake, you’re blocking my path,” Abby stated annoyed. “Ab,” he started. “Why didn’t you tell me?” “I….” “Are you all having a pow-wow in here? You were supposed to be in the hall right this minute!” Weaver stated, thankfully interrupting their conversation. All of the interns quickly filed out of the locker room and into the hallway.

Quite interesting what´s going on. Why Jake thinks she should tell him things? He is a married man, and it´s not his baby (well, that´s what he thinks). I don´t like this Jake. Hopefully this lie has long long legs. I don´t wanna see him as the baby´s father. Luka is better. Could you add some feedback about Luka? His wife and kids died during the war like "our" Luka? You are doing a great job, Suzanne. This fic is certanly OOC, AU - but Abby is as confused as the real one. I like it.

Chapter 30 “Dr. Weaver,” Abby began. Kerry put up a finger, a sign for her to wait just a minute. Kerry checked something on a chart she was holding and then turned back to Abby. “How are you feeling today, Abby?” “Fine.” “Any morning sickness?” “Not much, just a little bit. I’ve been feeling just fine.” “Good, that’s good,” Weaver paused. “Alright, go to triage.” “Triage?” Abby argued. “I’ve been gone a week. Isn’t their some surgery I could assist in? I really could use something good.” “Exactly, you’ve been gone a week. You need to get yourself back in the game. Now go to triage.” Abby sighed defiantly, but headed to triage. At least she was working. Later that afternoonAbby was tired. There had been barely anyone in triage the whole day. She had just had to do a couple of sutures and that was it, and it had bored her. Had their not been a crying baby, she may have fallen asleep from boredom. It was about time for her to grab a bite to eat. Then hopefully Weaver would assign her to something a bit more exciting. Abby walked out of triage and back to the locker room. She was surprised to see Luka sitting on the bench eating an apple. “You didn’t go to the cafeteria to eat?” Abby questioned. “Well, I was going to. But I made a little stop on the way, and I just had to give you your surprise. So, I decided to wait on you in here.” “A surprise?” Abby asked as a grin spread across her face. “Well, it’s more for the baby. Look what I found in the gift shop.” Luka pulled a pink onesie out of a plastic bag and held it up for Abby to read. It said “Dr. Baby” on the front and had pictures of tools like a scalpel and stethoscope. “Oh Luka, that is absolutely adorable. But, it’s pink. What if the baby is a boy?” “Ah ha!” He said, as he pulled out a matching onesie, but only this time it was blue. “Figured I would prepare for either way.” “Oh Luka,” Abby said, taking both of the onesies in her hand and looking them over. “It’s really real, isn’t it?” “Yes it is.” Abby placed the blue onesie over her belly and smiled. “Do you think it fits him?” “Oh, yes. It’s a perfect fit.”

Chapter 31 Abby placed the onesies into her locker and looked at the time. She had five more hours to go, and then she could go home. Luka had just headed back to work a moment ago. Abby had never been so anxious to go back home before. She usually loved being in the hospital. It was like her home away from home. But the pregnancy was beginning to take a toll on her. She felt exhausted, and she hadn’t even completed an entire shift. Plus she was not even in her second trimester. If she was this exhausted now, how would she be feeling when the baby grew and pulled on her back? Abby shook those thoughts away, and rationalized that it was probably the lack of excitement from the day and the fact that she had been ‘out of service’ for a week that had made her exhausted. Also, not to mention the throwing up all hours of the night which she had completely lied about to Kerry. She wasn’t about to admit to her boss that she had a terrible case of morning sickness that forced her to wake up at all hours during the night. Luckily, it just hit her at night. The rest of her day was just fine. Now she just had to worry about her night shifts. “Abby,” Jake’s voice called, interrupting Abby’s worries. “Can we talk?” Jake walked into the locker room and took a seat on the bench, motioning for Abby to do so also. “Um,” Abby began slightly wary of the situation. “S..sure.” Abby took a seat next to Jake. “What do you want to talk about?” Abby tried to appear light hearted, so that he couldn’t read her anxiousness. “It’s about…well, the baby and you and Luka.” “What about them…us?” Abby corrected. She felt odd calling Luka, the baby, and herself as ‘us.’ However, it was growing on her. “Well, I just wanted to say that I’m sorry.” Jake told her with concern filling his eyes. “You’re sorry?” Abby questioned, confused. “Why are you sorry?”

Thanks guys!! Chapter 32 “Not about the baby,” Jake quickly told her. “No… not that. I’m excited for you. You will be a great mother. It’s just, well...Luka and you. I mean…wait let me explain.” Jake took a deep breath and then continued with his explanation. “It’s just that I had no idea you were so upset that you were sleeping with Luka. I wish you had told me you were having trouble, maybe we could have talked. I realize that at the time we weren’t talking but...” “Jake,” Abby interrupted. “It wasn’t like that. Luka and I thought that there was something there, but there wasn’t. Then I found out I was pregnant and so we decided to raise the baby as friends,” Abby lied. The lie was coming out of her lips easily, but it was causing major anguish in her mind. She was sitting right in front of the real father of her baby and she was lying straight to his face. This also was not just any guy, this was her best friend and she was lying to him. She was lying to him about something big and it was hard for her. She was unsure how she was going to keep this lie up. But, she reminded herself, she had chosen to go this path for a reason. She had to keep it up even if it was wrong. Not everything was black and white, Abby reminded herself. “Good. That makes me feel better. I was worried about you,” Jake told her sincerely. “You don’t have to worry about me or the baby,” Abby informed him. “I do hope that you’ll be Uncle Jake, though. He or she will need a good uncle.” “Of course, Abby.” Jake pulled her into a sweet hug, and Abby hugged him back. He pulled away when his beeper went off. “Sorry, Ab. I have to go. Take good care of that baby there.” He winked and then walked out of the door. It was then that Abby let out the deep breath that she had not been aware she was holding in. It had been easier when she and Luka had been talking about it. But now with Jake right there, it was harder. Uncle, she nervously chuckled under her breath, if only he knew the truth. Abby’s beeper began to beep and she looked down to see that she was needed in triage. Abby rolled her eyes. Was this day ever going to end?
