Ok so Abby and Luka are not together at the minute, Jake never left and is married to a doctor called Kelly. He and Abby never went out but are very good friends. Susan and Carter are together. Abby never had an abortion but gave the baby up for adoption and a patient that she was really close to and falling for passed away and left her a lot. Might be occ aswell but here goes nothing. They do however work in the hospital. Chapter 1 Abby didn’t take time to sit and contemplate what happened, or what might have happened, last night. If she couldn’t remember, then there was a good chance that Jake didn’t either. Maybe just maybe, she could make it not have happened. So, she had to think quickly on her feet. She pulled herself out of the bed quietly and picked up all of her clothes that had been thrown onto the floor the night before. Then she threw them into her waste basket and pulled pyjamas out of her closet and a pillow off of her bed. After slipping into her pink pyjamas silently, she snuck out of the room and down stairs. She fixed the couch like a bed, and then lay down. Her head was pounding, and now that she had escaped her room, she needed time to think. She couldn’t believe what had happened. How could she and Jake…? They were just friends, nothing more. How could she have done that? That wasn’t her. She wasn’t the type of person to sleep with a committed man, much less a married man. And Jake was her best friend. How did they cross that line? Jake was married to Kelly. It didn’t matter that Abby wasn’t that fond of Kelly, because that still didn’t make it right. Sure, they were drunk, but that was not an excuse. Abby took a deep breath and closed her eyes. She had to fix this. She couldn’t be the cause for Jake and Kelly breaking up. Abby sat up. It was time for her to see if her plan was going to work. She pulled her hair up into a tight ponytail and stood up leaving her sofa bed unmade. That was needed for part of her plan. Then, she walked upstairs and back to her room. Before opening the door, she closed her eyes and counted to ten. Starting now everything was erased. Nothing happened. Nothing happened.

Great start! When you say Abby and Luka are not together at the minute, does that mean eventually they will be together? Can't wait for the next update!!

Chapter 2 Abby stretched her fist out and knocked on the door. She heard nothing at first, but before she could knock again, she heard rustling around in her room. “Jake?” Abby asked him through the door. “Can I come in?” “Um,” Jake somewhat responded behind the door. Abby could imagine him behind the door, searching for his clothes. “Jake?” She asked again. “Come in,” he said, his voice shaken. Abby pushed open the door. The image she saw behind the door would have been comical had her thoughts not been on the event from last night. Jake’s pants were on correctly, but his shirt was tangled up over his head, as if he were two and just learning how to put on a tee-shirt. “What happened last night?” Jake asked Abby point blank. His question caught her off guard, but she quickly redeemed herself and responded. “Last night? You don’t remember?” Abby asked cautiously, not trying to give anything away. “Well, I remember coming over and talking about Kelly and well, the drinking. But that’s all….” Jake told her. Abby took a giant sigh of relief. Good, she thought, he doesn’t remember. Jake looked up at her suddenly concerned. “You and I didn’t..?” Abby’s face went suddenly blank, but she quickly replaced it with a laugh. “You and me? You mean?” Jake nodded. “Seriously?” Jake nodded again. “No,” Abby said with a laugh. “You got a little too drunk, and I let you sleep in my room. I was sleeping downstairs. Why? What made you think….?’ Abby asked him, playing the dumb card. “Nothing,” Jake quickly told her. “Okay,” Abby responded. “It looks as though you lost some of your clothes last night, so why don’t I let you finish getting dressed and I’ll make breakfast. French toast sound good?” “Sure.” “Good.” Abby walked out of her room and pulled the door behind her. Her body leaned against the door, filled with relief and guilt. She had just lied to her best friend, but she wouldn’t be the cause of Kelly and Jake breaking up. They had a chance now. Everything was erased. Abby began to make her way down stairs and kept saying to herself nothing happened, nothing happened, nothing happened.

Personally, a real turn off is having an author set up there story by making explainations of who is doing what and where before beginning their first chapter. All of those components could be explained within the story.

Thanks for the feedback!! I appriciate all comments!! Chapter 3 Nothing happened, nothing happened, nothing happened, Abby continued running through her head as she flipped her French toast. It had only been twenty minutes since Abby had woken up, but the guilt was getting stronger and stronger by the second. What had they been thinking? Nothing happened, nothing happened. Abby took a deep breath and continued to repeat those two words over and over in her head, but they didn’t keep her thoughts from wondering. She couldn’t be sure if she had done the right thing. She so wanted to tell Jake and talk about what may or may not have happened. There was a chance, how ever minimal, that nothing happened. And Abby was holding on to that with every sense of her being. She knew, however, that she couldn’t tell Jake no matter how much she wanted to. Jake would not be able to handle not knowing what happened. He would want to get to the bottom of it, and he wouldn’t be able to lie to Kelly. So, she was doing him a favour. She was doing the right thing by erasing what happened. This way no one gets hurt. Abby shook her head in frustration. Nothing happened. “Oh,” Susan said as she entered the kitchen, “something smells good.” “Yeah,” Abby replied, half heartedly her thoughts elsewhere. “I made breakfast.” “You okay, Ab?” Susan’s question quickly made Abby’s facial expression change. She couldn’t make Susan suspicious. No one could find out, so Abby smiled brightly. “No, nothings wrong. Everything is just….great!” Abby said now somewhat overly enthusiastically. “Jake is here and he’s about to make up with Kelly- they had a little spat- and I’m okay with it. I am supporting their relationship.” “Wow, Ab,” Susan began, “that’s a big step for you.” Abby nodded her head. “Yes, very big,” Abby responded. The thoughts about what probably happened the night before plagued Abby’s thoughts once again. What had they done? What was she going to do? Chill it, Abby. Nothing happened. Nothing happened as far as everyone is concerned. “Well,” Susan started, pulling Abby out of her thoughts. “That is very good of you. I’m proud of you Abby.” Susan poured her a cup of coffee. “I’ll be back down in about thirty minutes so we can ride together for work.”

Chapter 4 Abby made a slight nod of her head, to let Susan know that she would be waiting. Her head still pounded from all the drinking the night before, but work would be good. Work would distract her thoughts. She needed to distract her thoughts, because no matter how hard she tried those two words (nothing happened) weren’t working well on erasing those thoughts from her head. “Yum,” Jake said as he entered the kitchen. “I’ve missed Abby breakfasts.” Jake pulled a plate from the cabinet and filled his plate full with freshly made French toast. “After you eat, you need to go back to Kelly,” Abby abruptly told him, as he took a large bite of French toast. Jake chewed his piece quickly, upset that he was unable to enjoy his breakfast. He wasn’t expecting an ambush from Abby (of all people) about making amends with Kelly first thing in the morning. Jake swallowed his large lump of French toast and then looked at Abby. “And what grovel?” Jake asked seriously. He did want things to work with Kelly, and he did love her. And it was his fault. “Exactly,” Abby told him. “Just go home and tell her you are sorry and that you love her.” “But what if she doesn’t listen?” Jake asked her. Abby rolled her eyes in dissatisfaction and bit her bottom lip. “You try again,” Abby told him irritably, and then she quickly shook off her irritation. It really wasn’t Jake’s fault that she was aggravated. “Come on Jake, this is your wife,” Abby began as she took a seat next to him. “You need to work hard to fix this. Just explain to her that she is the only one for you, and that you and I are only friends. And I’ll even apologize for my behaviour. I shouldn’t have been so blunt about my feelings to Kelly.” “No, you shouldn’t have,” Jake said back, “but I do think it’s great that you want to apologize.” “Yeah,” Abby responded lightly. “Now hurry up and finish eating, so you can go home and grovel.” As Jake left the house, Abby stood in the door frame. She had done the right thing. If he knew how she had really woken up this morning, Jake wouldn’t be going home to fix things with his wife. Well, he might, but for a much worse reason. Yes, she tried to convince herself again, she had done the right thing. Abby ran upstairs to change quickly for work. Now all she needed to think of was work, because nothing else had happened. Why should she be worried about anything else? “Abby?” Susan called from downstairs. “Are you ready?” Abby looked in the mirror. Her eyes were puffy and red from the little sleep and drinking. She felt terrible. She had done something terrible. What had she done? “Abby?” Susan called. “Yes, I’m ready.” Abby called back. Then, she closed her eyes once more and counted to ten. Nothing happened

Chapter 5 Ready to go home, Abby pulled her clothes out of her locker so she could change. The day had not been busy enough to keep the thoughts from running through her head. Her conscious was racked with guilt and fear. She had yet to hear from Jake on how his making up had gone. If Kelly and Jake made it, it meant that they were meant to be. And, if one day they did brake up, at least it wouldn’t be because of her. The door opened, and Abby looked over to see who it was. Jake and Kelly walked in holding hands. The deep breath Abby had been holding since she had woken up, finally escaped her lips. They were back together. Now, for sure, no one would ever have to find out the truth. She had done it. Maybe now the guilt wouldn’t be as bad. “Hey,” Abby began, not really sure what she was going to say. “Hi,” Jake said with a grin on his face. Kelly seemed to be sharing the same grin. The make up must have been great. Abby shivered at the thought. “Hi Kelly,” Abby said with a small smile, making sure that Kelly knew that she was trying. “Hey, Abby,” Kelly responded somewhat shyly, not knowing if she should trust Abby or not. “Look,” Abby began rambling, “I’m sorry. Really, I am. I shouldn’t have been so harsh and said those things. I know that you love Jake, and I know that he loves you. Yes, I do think it was a bit quickly, but I should know that love doesn’t always make sense, or happen at a normal pace. I think my biggest problem was that I was engaged, you know? I should be married right now,” Abby confessed. She took a big breath before continuing, “And I guess…well, I guess I was just jealous. And, I’m sorry.” Kelly stood before Abby for a few seconds without talking. She couldn’t believe what she had just heard. Had Abby really just given her an apology? Did she really mean it? Jake poked her back, and she quickly came back to reality. “Thank you, Abby, that really means a lot,” Kelly told her. Abby smiled, but didn’t say anything else. All she could think was if you only knew.

Chapter 6 Abby began to quickly assemble her items into her backpack, because she couldn’t look Kelly in the face without feeling guilty, and she hated it. She hated that loss of control. She hated feeling like the adulterous person that she was, that she had never wanted to be. She quickly wondered if she would ever be able to act normal around either of them again. “Hey, tonight Kelly and I are going to Ike’s. Would you like to join us and we can all start over? Put this all behind us?” Jake offered. Kelly gave a weak smile. As much as she appreciated Abby’s apology, she didn’t see Abby and her as the best buddy type. Abby, thankfully, declined. “No thanks,” Abby told him. “I…I,” Abby began searching for an excuse, “I wanted to get some extra hours in tonight. You know, what it’s like.” “Oh okay, but if you decide you want to come, we’ll be there.” Jake told her. Abby nodded, and grabbed her bag. Out to eat with them? There was no way she could do that right now. Maybe in a couple of weeks, but she needed time to deal with what Jake and she had done. Five Weeks LaterAbby had been extremely irritable the last few days, and those around her knew to steer clear from her. Everything had pretty much gone back to normal after Abby and Kelly had made up. They would never be the best of friends, but they were at least tolerant of one another when they were around each other. It made life simpler. Abby had been able to somewhat move on after what had happened, but now she was so cross. No matter what anyone said to her, she just felt like snapping at them. Everyone and everything bothered her. “Abby,” Susan asked as she walked into the kitchen. “What?” Abby snapped, when she saw Susan’s shocked face, she quickly apologized. “I’m sorry, Susan. I don’t know what’s wrong with me.” Abby placed her hand on her forehead and gently massaged it. She had the biggest headache. “It’s okay, Ab,” Susan told her. Although Abby didn’t believe her, she had been horrible lately. It wasn’t okay. Susan caught the pain in Abby’s eyes, and walked over to her. “Are you okay? Do you need to talk about anything?”

Great story again, you know how to keep the readers in suspense. But I think I know what's wrong with Abby... I look forward to your next update.

I have a guess too, Martine! Even though I love Luby, I always really liked Jake too, so I'm always up for a little Jake/Abby in a story. The guy was never going to be her true love, but I appreciated him for what he gave her during such a hard time in her life.
Can't wait for the next update!

Thanks guys!! Chapter 7 Abby looked up. Yes, she thought to herself, I slept with Jake and now everything is falling apart. But Abby just said, “No, I just haven’t been feeling well. I guess that’s just made me grouchy.” Susan placed her hand on Abby’s forehead, checking for a fever. “You don’t have a fever,” Susan informed her. “How have you been feeling?” “Just a little nauseous is all,” Abby told her. “Maybe I’m coming down with something.” “Maybe,” Susan agreed. “Maybe it’s migraines. Have you ever had bad migraines before?” Abby shook her head as a no. She had headaches, but she had never been plagued badly with migraines. Abby’s eyes popped open as a realization hit her. She began nervously chewing on her fingernails. “Abby?” Susan said. “Um, I think I need…” Abby said not exactly toward Susan. “Abby!” Susan stated strongly this time. Abby looked at Susan trying to conceal the thoughts in her head. “Are you okay?” “Yeah, I’m fine,” Abby lied through her teeth. “I just need to go lie down upstairs. You know, I think you might be right. It is migraines.” She rushed upstairs, before Susan or anyone else could ask her how she was. Because if they did, she might just burst into tears. When she reached her room, she sat down on her bed, and pulled out the calendar that was inside her bedside table. She had been extremely irritable for no reason once before in her life. She had been so incredibly irritable that her mother and friends wouldn’t even talk to her, for fear of being yelled at. Then, the nausea had come. And not soon later…. Abby paused her thoughts as she searched through her calendar quickly, whispering to herself, “No it couldn’t be, no it couldn’t be, it just couldn’t.” After everything she had done to erase that night and with Jake and Kelly back together. Now that she and Kelly even somewhat got along, this could not be happening. When Abby found what she was looking for, she threw the calendar across the room in frustration. Then she sat back in her bed, and leaned her head against the bed frame. “Dammit,” Abby whispered to herself, “I’m pregnant.”
